HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to recognize Kankakee Alderman Steve 
4Hunter on his accomplishments while in office; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Steve Hunter helped secure $5 million in city 
6spending for the 7th Ward of Kankakee; he sponsored 
7"Summerfest", a 3-day festival for Kankakeeland in Pioneer Park 
8and was involved with the "Glove Me Tender" program, providing 
9hats and gloves to needy children in Kankakee School District 
10111; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Steve Hunter has provided 66 college scholarships 
12to Kankakee children alongside KFL Community Services; he held 
13an annual Christmas party for area children and was a board 
14member of Christmas, Inc., which provides free Christmas 
15dinners to those alone on Christmas Day; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Steve Hunter worked with Kankakee Valley Park 
17District to bring new equipment to 7th Ward parks; and
  
 
  
18    WHEREAS, Steve Hunter is married to Elisa; he has 3 
19children, Kira Hunter, Miki Caines, and Alex Hunter and a 
20grandson, Cameron Hunter; his mother is Louanne Hunter and his 
21sister, Jacquelyn Smith; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
2NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
3we recognize the accomplishments of Kankakee Alderman Steve 
4Hunter and thank him for his 40 years service to his community; 
5and be it further
  
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7presented to Steve Hunter as an expression of our esteem and 
8respect.
