HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to honor De La Salle High School's Ricardo 
4Ramirez on his athletic and academic accomplishments; and
  
 
  
5    WHEREAS, Ricardo Ramirez is the son of immigrants from 
6Mexico and has immersed himself in American culture and sports, 
7including baseball; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Ricardo Ramirez has seen success in the classroom 
9as well as on the baseball field; he is ranked fifth in his 
10senior class and has earned a baseball scholarship to the 
11University of Illinois-Chicago; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Ricardo Ramirez is the captain of his baseball 
13team, the De La Salle High School Meteors, and sets an example 
14for the rest of his teammates by rising at 5 AM to lift 
15weights; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Ricardo Ramirez has a stringent work ethic, 
17instilled by his family, that has helped him along the way to 
18achieving his goals; therefore, be it
  
 
19    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
20NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that

1we honor Ricardo Ramirez on his accomplishments, both athletic 
2and academic, and wish him all the best as he attends the 
3University of Illinois-Chicago; and be it further
  
 
4    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
5presented to Ricardo Ramirez as an expression of our esteem and 
6respect.
