HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Timothy 
4"Tim"  West, longtime editor of The Naperville Sun, who passed 
5away on May 14, 2013; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Tim West was born on September 17, 1946, in 
7Cleveland, Ohio, to Maurice and Rosemary West; he received his 
8bachelors degree from Hiram College and his masters degree in 
9British History from the University of Cincinnati; he moved 
10with his family to Naperville in 1968; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Tim West joined The Naperville Sun in 1973 and 
12never left; he served as editor, reporter, and columnist during 
13his time working there; his column "All Points West" first 
14appeared on July 24, 1973; his 40th anniversary with The 
15Naperville Sun would have been in June 2013; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Tim West enjoyed traveling, reading, photography, 
17and the Rolling Stones; and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, Tim West was preceded in death by his parents and 
19his father-in-law, Robert Fritsch; and
  
 
20    WHEREAS, Tim West is survived by his wife, Kathy; his

1sister, Sue; and numerous sisters-in-law,  brothers-in-law, 
2nieces, and nephews; therefore, be it
  
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
4NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
5we mourn the passing of Tim West, and extend our sincere 
6condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved 
7him; and be it further
  
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
9presented to the family of Tim West as an expression of our 
10deepest sympathy.
