| 5 | | Illinois chapter of the Future Farmers of America; and

| 6 | | WHEREAS, The State Star Farmer award recognizes |
| 7 | | outstanding achievement in a production agriculture Supervised |
| 8 | | Agricultural Experience and active participation in the Future |
| 9 | | Farmers of America (FAA); each year, state associations select |
| 10 | | one member, thru a competitive process, from the top applicants |
| 11 | | for the state FAA degree; the national FAA foundation provides |
| 12 | | a $300 cash award; and

| 13 | | WHEREAS, The national FAA organization is dedicated to |
| 14 | | making a positive difference in the lives of students by |
| 15 | | developing their potential for premier leadership, personal |
| 16 | | growth, and career success through agricultural education; |
