| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives are pleased to congratulate Dr. Eric Radtke as | ||||||
| 4 | he retires as president of Prairie State College; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Dr. Eric Radtke has served as president of Prairie | ||||||
| 6 | State College since 2008; and
| ||||||
| 7 | WHEREAS, Dr. Eric Radtke has an extensive background in the | ||||||
| 8 | field of higher education administration; prior to joining | ||||||
| 9 | Prairie State College, Dr. Eric Radtke served as Executive | ||||||
| 10 | Vice-President of Administration at Cuyahoga Community College | ||||||
| 11 | in Cleveland, Ohio; before his time at Cuyahoga Community | ||||||
| 12 | College, he spent 6 years in the United Arab Emirates, where he | ||||||
| 13 | served as chief planning, budget, and human resources officer | ||||||
| 14 | for Higher College of Technology, a system of 12 technical | ||||||
| 15 | colleges serving 16,000 Emirati Students across the UAE; and
| ||||||
| 16 | WHEREAS, Prior to his service in the United Arab Emirates, | ||||||
| 17 | Dr. Eric Radtke served as Vice-President of Finance and | ||||||
| 18 | Operations for Minneapolis Community and Technical College | ||||||
| 19 | from 1996 to 2000, and he served in various senior | ||||||
| 20 | administrative roles for the Minnesota Community College | ||||||
| 21 | System from 1985 to 1995; he was instrumental in implementing | ||||||
| 22 | the merger of the technical colleges, state universities, and | ||||||
| |||||||
| |||||||
| 1 | community colleges into a single new system, which today is | ||||||
| 2 | known as Minnesota State Colleges and Universities or MnSCU; | ||||||
| 3 | and | ||||||
| 4 | WHEREAS, Dr. Eric Radtke dabbled in politics and government | ||||||
| 5 | before moving to the world of higher education; from 1980 to | ||||||
| 6 | 1984, he served the Minnesota Legislature as a fiscal and | ||||||
| 7 | policy analyst for the House Appropriations Committee; and
| ||||||
| 8 | WHEREAS, Dr. Eric Radtke received his Ph.D. in Higher | ||||||
| 9 | Education Policy and Administration and his masters of arts in | ||||||
| 10 | Public Affairs from the Humphrey Institute of Public Affairs at | ||||||
| 11 | the University of Minnesota; he received his bachelors degree | ||||||
| 12 | in Community Science (Psychology) from the University of | ||||||
| 13 | Wisconsin-Green Bay; and
| ||||||
| 14 | WHEREAS, Dr. Eric Radtke has been married to Jane Eccles | ||||||
| 15 | for 38 years and they have 2 children, Caitlin Eccles-Radtke | ||||||
| 16 | M.D. and Erica Eccles-Radtke Psy.D.; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 17 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
| 18 | NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 19 | we congratulate Dr. Eric Radtke on the occasion of his | ||||||
| 20 | retirement, thank him for his commitment to higher education, | ||||||
| 21 | and wish him the best with all his future endeavours; and be it | ||||||
