2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
3 | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Bud | ||||||
4 | Schwegel of Alton, who passed away on May 23, 2013; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Bud Schwegel was born on October 3, 1937, in | ||||||
6 | Alton; his parents were Peter and Louise Schwegel; he married | ||||||
7 | Phyllis Eppel on April 22, 1957, at St. Mary's Catholic Church | ||||||
8 | in Alton; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Bud Schwegel was the owner and operator of | ||||||
10 | Schwegel's Grocery Stores and Pearl Market, where he dedicated | ||||||
11 | his life to serving the community with compassion; and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, Bud Schwegel enjoyed riding his bikes with his | ||||||
13 | friends and family to places such as Sturgis and New Orleans, | ||||||
14 | among others; he also enjoyed spending time with his family, | ||||||
15 | friends, and customers; and
| ||||||
16 | WHEREAS, Bud Schwegel was preceded in death by his wife, | ||||||
17 | Phyllis; his parents; and his brother and sister-in-law, Pete | ||||||
18 | "Jabo" and Maggie Schwegel; and
| ||||||
19 | WHEREAS, Bud Schwegel is survived by his children and their | ||||||
20 | spouses, Pam and Rick Alexander, Lorrie "Pop" and Dave Tholin, |

12 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
13 | NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
14 | we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Bud | ||||||
15 | Schwegel; and be it further

16 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
17 | presented to the family of Bud Schwegel as an expression of our | ||||||
18 | sympathy.
