HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate Dr. Prentiss Lea of 
4District 128 on being named Lake County Superintendent of the 
5Year; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Dr. Lea was recognized for his leadership in 
7facilitating the Lake County Superintendent's Association 
8(LCS) efforts to develop more productive working relationships 
9with State legislators, to provide legislators with financial 
10impact data and other relevant information regarding proposed 
11public school legislation, and to work with public school 
12advocate groups to communicate with legislators; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, The award, presented by the LCS each spring, is 
14voted on by LCS members; Dr. Lea received the award from 
15outgoing Lake County Superintendent of the Year Donaldo 
16Batiste, superintendent at Waukegan Community Unit School 
17District 60; and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, Dr. Lea has served as the District 128 
19superintendent since July 2008, and was the associate 
20superintendent for 3 years prior to becoming the 
21superintendent; he serves on the Illinois High School District 
22Organization Executive Board and as the LCS Illinois

1Association of School Administrators Legislative 
2Representative and the LCS Legislative Chair; and
  
 
3    WHEREAS, Dr. Lea served as a principal for 12 years at 
4Glenbard North, Rich East, and Crete-Monee high schools before 
5coming to District 128, and serves as an educational consultant 
6in leadership, strategic, and school improvement planning, and 
7communication; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, The Lake County Superintendent's Association 
9honored Prentiss Lea  at the LCS Annual Awards Night held on May 
1022, 2013, at Steven's Restaurant in Gurnee; therefore, be it
  
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
12NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
13we congratulate Dr. Prentiss Lea on being named the Lake County 
14Superintendent of the Year; and be it further
  
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
16presented to Dr. Lea as an expression of our esteem and 
17respect.
