HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of  Mary 
4Coutee Rachal, who passed away on April 27, 2013; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Mary Rachal was born on January 11, 1922, in 
6Cloutierville, Louisiana; her parents were John and Rosine 
7Bellow Coutee; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Mary Rachal was a member of St. James Memorial 
9Catholic Church; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Mary Rachal was preceded in death by her parents, 
11John and Rosine; her husband, John B. Rachal; and her siblings, 
12Phillip, John, and Lawrence Coutee, Rosine Watson, and Sarah 
13Rachal; and

  
 
14    WHEREAS, Mary Rachal is survived by her sons, Daniel Coutee 
15and his wife, Illinois State Representative Mary Flowers 
16Coutee, and Alexander "Johnny" Herbert and his wife, Shirley 
17Herbert; her brother, Steven Coutee; her sister, Genevieve 
18Barnes and her husband, Frank Barnes; her sister-in-law, Wyomie 
19Coutee; her grandchildren, Gloria, Terrance, Adriane, Kevin, 
20Daniel, Cionna, Christopher, Makeda, Tina, and Jennifer; 15 
21great-grandchildren; her aunt, Mary Coutee Branch; and her many

1nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; therefore, be it
  
 
2    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
3NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
4we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of 
5Mary Coutee Rachal; and be it further
  
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7presented to the family of Mary Rachal as an expression of our 
8sympathy.
