HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The Pink Heals Tour takes pink fire trucks and 
3police cars across the country, carrying the Care Enough to 
4Wear Pink and the Pink Heals Movement to local communities; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Pink Heals was founded in 2007 with a focus on 
6helping women who are battling or have battled cancer; Pink 
7Heals recognizes the importance that the women in our lives 
8have on our families and communities; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Pink Heals helps to raise awareness and funds for 
10local women and community initiatives; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, In 2012, the Pink Heals Tour traveled throughout 
12Illinois with stops including Jacksonville, Joliet, 
13Naperville, Downers Grove, Bartlett, Aurora, and Rockford; 
14during that time, the tour made multiple home visits to deliver 
15flowers and hugs to women with cancer; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, There are currently 4 local chapters of Pink Heals 
17in Illinois: Chicagoland (located in Downers Grove), 
18Naperville, Joliet, and northern Illinois; and
  
 
19    WHEREAS, In 2013, the Pink Heals Tour will be in Illinois 
20on July 3-4 (Jacksonville), July 25 (Freeport), July 26

1(Orangeville), July 27 (Rockford), July 28 (McHenry), August 6 
2(Downers Grove), August 7 (Evanston), August 8 (Bedford Park), 
3August 9 (Bartlett), August 10-11 (Joliet), and August 13-17 at 
4the International Association of Fire Chiefs Annual Conference 
5in Chicago; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Pink Heals has been supported by proclamations by 
7many politicians including Senators Harry Reid, Joe Liberman, 
8and Sherrod Brown Jr. and Governors Bill Ritter Jr., Janice K. 
9Brewer, and more; therefore, be it
  
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
11NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
12we declare August 2013 as Pink Heals Tour Month in the State of 
13Illinois and thank them for their commitment to helping those 
14afflicted with breast cancer; and be it further
  
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
16presented to Pink Heals as an expression of our esteem and 
17respect.
