HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate Andrew Przybylo of Niles, Dan DiMaria of Morton Grove, and Matt Bogusz of Des Plaines on the occasion of being elected to the position of Mayor of their respective communities; and

WHEREAS, Mayor Andrew Przybylo is a 1969 graduate of Notre Dame College Preparatory and a 1975 graduate of Loyola University; he and his wife, Amy, have been residents of Niles since 1981; he is part owner of the White Eagle Banquets and Restaurant in Niles and is employed by Cook County as Secretary to the Cook County Zoning Board of Appeals; he served on the Niles Village Board as a Trustee from 1989 until 2013, when he was elected to serve as Mayor of Niles in April 2013; he is a board member and president of the Polish Welfare Association, a delegate to the Democratic Party Convention, and a member of the Board of Directors of First State Bank of Chicago; he has also been a member of several organizations, including the Knights of Columbus, Niles Lions Club, and Niles Sister Cities, and has served as the Democratic committeeman for Maine Township and as a commissioner for the Cook County Housing Authority; and

WHEREAS, Mayor Dan DiMaria is a 1985 graduate of Notre Dame College Preparatory; he has served as president of DiMaria Builders and as an independent commodity trader on the Chicago Board of Trade; he has served as an Appearance Commissioner, Village Clerk, and Trustee with the Village of Morton Grove and was elected to serve as Mayor of Morton Grove in April 2013; he is also a volunteer and community-spirited person who volunteers his time at the Taste of Morton Grove, Morton Grove Days, the Chamber of Commerce, and Niles West Feeder Baseball; and

WHEREAS, Mayor Matt Bogusz is a lifelong resident of Des Plaines and a 2005 graduate of Notre Dame College Preparatory; he is also a graduate of Northwestern University, where he gained experience in operational management, digital advertising, and media strategy; he formerly served as Alderman of the 3rd Ward and Chairman of the Engineering and Finance Committees in Des Plaines and was elected to serve as Mayor of Des Plaines in April 2013, making him the youngest person to serve in that esteemed position; he currently works for one of the world's largest brand communications and consumer contact organizations and represents Des Plaines on the Northwest Municipal Conference's Legislative Committee; and

WHEREAS, Andrew Przybylo, Dan DiMaria, and Matt Bogusz serve as models of hard work, integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of Illinois and are fine examples of the strong work ethic and dedication to public service that Notre Dame College Preparatory instills in its graduates; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Andrew Przybylo, Dan DiMaria, and Matt Bogusz on the occasion of being elected to the position of Mayor and wish them continued success and happiness in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be presented to Andrew Przybylo, Dan DiMaria, and Matt Bogusz as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
