| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 | | Representatives are pleased to congratulate Ruth Badal of the |
| 4 | | Oswego Public Library District Board on the occasion of her |
| 5 | | retirement; and
|
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Ruth Badal has been an Oswego area resident for 50 |
| 7 | | years and an Oswego Public Library Trustee for 12 years; and
|
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Ruth Badal was first elected to the Oswego Public |
| 9 | | Library District Board in 1999; she names the construction of |
| 10 | | the Montgomery Campus Library and the remodel of the Oswego |
| 11 | | Campus Library as two events that were important to her while |
| 12 | | she was on the board; and
|
| 13 | | WHEREAS, The library district includes the Village of |
| 14 | | Oswego, most of the Village of Montgomery, part of the Village |
| 15 | | of Plainfield, Boulder Hill, Oswego Township, and the parts of |
| 16 | | Bristol and Wheatland Townships within the Oswego School |
| 17 | | District; and
|
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Ruth Badal is quoted as saying that the library is |
| 19 | | "the most important institution we have in the entire town. |
| 20 | | It's open to everybody-and it's for everybody"; and
|
|

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Ruth Badal has a natural love for books and |
| 2 | | reading, as witnessed through her work as a reading specialist |
| 3 | | at Long Beach Elementary School in Boulder Hill and East View |
| 4 | | Elementary School; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Ruth Badal served as a principal of Boulder Hill |
| 6 | | Elementary School, Coultrap Elementary School in Geneva, and |
| 7 | | River Woods Elementary School in Naperville; and
|
| 8 | | WHEREAS, For the past 5 years, Ruth Badal has worked at |
| 9 | | Aurora University in the Masters of Arts in Reading program, |
| 10 | | teaching people to become reading specialists; and
|
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Ruth Badal hopes to continue her community service |
| 12 | | in San Antonio, Texas, where she is moving along with her |
| 13 | | husband to be close to one of her children; therefore, be it
|
| 14 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 15 | | NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
| 16 | | we congratulate Ruth Badal on her retirement and wish her all |
| 17 | | the best in her future endeavors; and be it further
|
| 18 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 19 | | presented to Ruth Badal as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
