HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Verneda 
4(Burrow) Barnette, who passed away on July 22, 2013; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Verneda Barnette was born on December 30, 1949, to 
6Tom and Willie Marie Burrow; she graduated from Lucy Flowers 
7High School and attended Chicago Teacher's College; she married 
8Irving Barnette on July 27, 1968; and
  
 
  
9    WHEREAS, Verneda Barnette was a dedicated employee, 
10friend, mother, grandmother, sister, and wife; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Verneda Barnette was preceded in death by her 
12parents; her brothers, William (W.H.) and Wilbert; and her 
13sisters, Wilma and Darlene; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Verneda Barnette is survived by her children, 
15Irving LaCliff, Thomas Wesley, Theodore Weldon, Keena DeMara, 
16and Bryant Anthony; her 21 grandchildren; her 3 
17great-grandchildren; her sister, Helen Williams; her aunt, 
18Dorothy Agers; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins; 
19therefore, be it
  
 
20    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE

1NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
2we mourn the passing of Verneda (Burrow) Barnette, and extend 
3our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who 
4knew and loved her; and be it further
  
 
5    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
6presented to the family of Verneda Barnette as an expression of 
7our deepest sympathy.
