HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate  Daniel Skiroock of 
4Schaumburg on the occasion of achieving the coveted rank of 
5Eagle Scout; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Daniel Skiroock is a 17-year old junior at 
7Schaumburg High School; he plans to attend college and study 
8engineering, in the hope that he will design products that will 
9help others; he and his father plan to tour the Badlands, Mt. 
10Rushmore, and the Crazy Horse Memorial before returning to 
11Illinois; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Daniel Skiroock has been in Scouting for 11 years; 
13recently, he was working on earning his Eagle Scout rank and 
14needed a worthy cause for his project; he contacted Connie 
15Kaltenbach, principal of Batesland School, in the fall of 2012; 
16Ms. Kaltenbach told him that they had a new school and a new 
17library, which required many books to fill it; and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, Hearing of the needs at Batesland School, Daniel 
19Skiroock decided to collect as many books as he could for his 
20project, which he chose because of his love of reading and 
21books; he was able to acquire a total of 6,527 books by 
22enlisting the help of other Scout families, friends, and other

1libraries; as a gesture of appreciation for his work, he was 
2thanked by all of the families at the new school library; and

  
 
3    WHEREAS, The rank of Eagle Scout will be bestowed upon 
4Daniel Skiroock by the Boy Scouts of America at a Court of 
5Honor ceremony on August 31, 2013; therefore, be it
  
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
7NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
8we congratulate congratulate  Daniel Skiroock on the occasion of 
9achieving the coveted rank of Eagle Scout and wish him 
10continued success and happiness in the future; and be it 
11further
  
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
13presented to Daniel Skiroock as a symbol of our esteem and 
14respect.
