HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate Sergeant Keith 
4Wagner on the occasion of receiving the 2013 Best School Blood 
5Drive Coordinator Award from the Illinois Coalition of 
6Community Blood Centers; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, Sgt. Keith Wagner began overseeing the blood 
8drives held at Lincoln's ChalleNGe Academy in 1999; since then, 
9he has hosted 28 two-day blood drives; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Sgt. Keith Wagner is responsible for the 
11collection of over 3,171 units of blood, which has had the 
12potential to save over 9,500 lives; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, As an incentive to donate blood, Sgt. Keith Wagner 
14encourages friendly competition over which of the classes of 
15cadets can donate the most; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Sgt. Keith Wagner goes out of his way to educate 
17his cadets, who may not otherwise have such opportunity, on the 
18importance of community service and blood donation; and
  
 
19    WHEREAS, The results of Sgt. Keith Wagner's efforts will 
20continue to be seen for years to come because of the critical

1role school blood drives play in cultivating lifetime donors; 
2and
 
3    WHEREAS, In 2013, the Community Blood Services of Illinois 
4division of the Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center 
5nominated Sgt. Keith Wagner as the "Best School Blood Drive 
6Coordinator" in a state-wide competition hosted by the Illinois 
7Coalition of Community Blood Centers; therefore, be it
  
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
9NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
10we commend Sergeant Keith Wagner for his selfless service to 
11his community and his strong commitment to his cadets; and be 
12it further
  
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
14presented to Sgt. Keith Wagner as a symbol of our respect and 
15esteem.
