| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 | | Representatives are pleased to congratulate Dr. Christopher |
| 4 | | Jones on the occasion of receiving the "2013 Physician of |
| 5 | | Excellence Award" from the Illinois Rural Health Association; |
| 6 | | and
|
| 7 | | WHEREAS, In 1997, Dr. Christopher Jones graduated from the |
| 8 | | University of Illinois College of Medicine in Peoria; he |
| 9 | | completed his residency at the University of Arizona Health |
| 10 | | Science Center in Obstetrics and Gynecology in 2001; and
|
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Christopher Jones began his career at |
| 12 | | Passavant Area Hospital in Jacksonville in 2001; and
|
| 13 | | WHEREAS, In 2002, Dr. Christopher Jones started serving |
| 14 | | more rural populations with his service at Illini Medical |
| 15 | | Associates in Jerseyville; and
|
| 16 | | WHEREAS, By 2005, there was a tremendous void in obstetric |
| 17 | | and gynecological care in Hancock County; Dr. Christopher Jones |
| 18 | | was able to fill this void when he became the first |
| 19 | | Obstetrician/Gynecologist to join the staff of Memorial |
| 20 | | Hospital in Carthage, where he was been born; and
|

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Since that time, Dr. Christopher Jones has |
| 2 | | provided excellent care for his patients, to whom he is |
| 3 | | extremely devoted and provides 24-hour, 7-day a week coverage; |
| 4 | | and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Christopher Jones has risen to the leadership |
| 6 | | at Memorial Hospital, where he currently serves as President of |
| 7 | | the Medical Staff and the chair of several committees, |
| 8 | | including the Perinatal Care, Infection Control, and Medical |
| 9 | | Record and Utilization Review committees; and
|
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Thanks to the dedication of Dr. Christopher Jones, |
| 11 | | Memorial Hospital is one of the remaining few critical access |
| 12 | | hospitals in the State which provide obstetrical services and |
| 13 | | is equipped with 2 delivery suites; and
|
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Christopher Jones is also active in his |
| 15 | | community; he serves as a youth softball coach and a judge for |
| 16 | | the local talent show; therefore, be it
|
| 17 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 18 | | NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
| 19 | | we commend Dr. Christopher Jones for his selfless service to |
| 20 | | his community and the impact he has made on improving rural |
| 21 | | health; and be it further
|
