| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 | | Representatives are pleased to congratulate the Williamsville |
| 4 | | Junior High School Softball Team on winning the 2013 Illinois |
| 5 | | Elementary School Association Class AA State Championship; and
|
| 6 | | WHEREAS, The Williamsville Junior High Softball Team |
| 7 | | showed incredible composure and the ability to handle adversity |
| 8 | | in their desire to achieve their goals by beating Riverton in |
| 9 | | the Regional Championship and Dunlap in the Sectional |
| 10 | | Championship; and
|
| 11 | | WHEREAS, The Williamsville Junior High Softball Team |
| 12 | | achieved a collective batting average of .466 for the season; |
| 13 | | and
|
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Leading pitchers Olivia Felts and Payton Long |
| 15 | | threw 7 no-hitters and 4 perfect games to lead the attack on |
| 16 | | their opponents during the season and to enable the team to |
| 17 | | post a record of 29-1, while outscoring their opponents 349-41; |
| 18 | | and

| 19 | | WHEREAS, The team was led by Coach Jones, Coach Ashbaugh, |
| 20 | | and Coach Mead throughout the regular season conference |
| 21 | | schedule, tournament play, and the championship game, where |

| 1 | | they won 6-4 over previously unbeaten Homer Glen Junior High |
| 2 | | School, a school nearly 3 times larger than Williamsville |
| 3 | | Junior High School; and

| 4 | | WHEREAS, The Williamsville Junior High School Softball |
| 5 | | Team members are Skylar Dees, Danielle Dennis, Olivia Felts, |
| 6 | | Andrea Fraser, Harleigh Gray, Leah Kluemke, Alex Leka, Payton |
| 7 | | Long, Mackenzie McCormick, Ashleigh McDermott, Kaileigh Moser, |
| 8 | | Kaylin Mumaw, Emma Newton, Laken Rockford, Maddie Sloman, Emma |
| 9 | | Walbert, Molly Walter, and Rylie Yard; therefore, be it

| 10 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 11 | | NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |

| 13 | | Team on winning the 2013 Illinois Elementary School Association |
