HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate the Illinois 
4District 13 Little League team on their participation in the 
52013 Challenger Exhibition Game at the Little League World 
6Series; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, With the help of Tri-Cities Little League and 
8Bartlett Little League,The Woodstock Challengers started 
9playing baseball in June of 2012 with the goal of giving 
10special needs children in northern McHenry County the 
11opportunity to play baseball in an organized environment; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, There are more than 30,000 Challenger players from 
13more than 900 leagues worldwide; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Fifteen participants were selected from 165 
15members from the Bartlett, Tri-Cities, and Woodstock areas to 
16participate in the Challenger Little League World Series 
17exhibition game at Volunteer Stadium in Williamsport, 
18Pennsylvania, the home of the Little League World Series; and
  
 
19    WHEREAS, The Illinois District 13 Little League team 
20competed against the other Challenger team selected for the 
21game, California District 57 from the San Francisco area, on

1August 24, 2013; the game was broadcasted on ESPN3; and
  
 
2    WHEREAS, The Illinois District 13 Little League team had a 
3great season that ended on top with a game played in the Little 
4League World Series, which was enjoyed by family, close 
5friends, and the dedicated people who helped to make this a 
6memorable trip for all the players; therefore, be it
  
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
8NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
9we congratulate and honor the Illinois District 13 Little 
10League team on their participation in the Little League World 
11Series, the work of those volunteers who helped work with the 
12kids to make this league a possibility, and District 13's 
13dedication to helping children with special needs; and be it 
14further
  
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
16presented to the players, buddies, and coaches of Illinois 
17District 13 as an expression of our esteem and respect.
