| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 | | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Raymond |
| 4 | | H. Neisewander, Jr.; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Raymond Neisewander, Jr. was born on May 30, 1932 |
| 6 | | in Springfield; he was the oldest son of Ray, Sr. and Audrienne |
| 7 | | (nee Murphy) Neisewander; he married Jean Baxter on November |
| 8 | | 30, 1957, and they divorced in 1987; he met Kim Danreiter in |
| 9 | | 1997, and they married on June 29, 2002; and
|
| 10 | | WHEREAS, After attending elementary school in Springfield, |
| 11 | | Raymond Neisewander, Jr. attended the Marmion Military Academy |
| 12 | | in Aurora, where he graduated in 1951; after attending |
| 13 | | Springfield Junior College and the University of Illinois, he |
| 14 | | served in the United States Army in the Panama Canal Zone from |
| 15 | | 1954 to 1956; and
|
| 16 | | WHEREAS, In 1956, Raymond Neisewander, Jr. started a Raynor |
| 17 | | garage door dealership in Bettendorf, Iowa; he then moved to |
| 18 | | Raynor's headquarters in Dixon in 1961; in 1968, he was |
| 19 | | promoted to Executive Vice President and a member of the |
| 20 | | management team, where he launched and managed the |
| 21 | | organization's trucking division, Raynor Express, Inc.; in |
| 22 | | 1979, he became the President, CEO, and Chairman of the Board |

| 1 | | for Raynor, Kwik-Wall of Springfield, and the Raynor Hotel |
| 2 | | Corporation; and
|
| 3 | | WHEREAS, Raymond Neisewander, Jr. was an active member of |
| 4 | | the Dixon community; he served on the governing boards of the |
| 5 | | Dixon Airport, Amcore (Dixon National) Bank, Dixon United Way, |
| 6 | | Dixon Family YMCA, and Wahl Clipper Corporation; he was also |
| 7 | | known for his generosity to a long list of community events and |
| 8 | | organizations, such as the Dixon Public Library, Dixon public |
| 9 | | and parochial schools, the Dixon Theatre Renovation, the |
| 10 | | Northern Illinois Cancer Treatment Center, the Dixon Petunia |
| 11 | | Festival, the Dixon Industrial Development Association, the |
| 12 | | Dixon Public School District Foundation, the Dixon Area Chamber |
| 13 | | of Commerce and Industry, and many other local charities; and
|
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Raymond Neisewander, Jr. began serving on the |
| 15 | | board of the National Association of Garage Door Manufacturers |
| 16 | | in 1972; he served as the board's president from 1973 to 1974 |
| 17 | | and served as treasurer from 1986 to 1996; in 2006, the |
| 18 | | International Door Association named Raymond Neisewander, Jr. |
| 19 | | and Raymond Neisewander III as the recipient of the industry's |
| 20 | | first Heritage Award for outstanding contributions to the |
| 21 | | garage door industry; that same year, Raymond Neisewander, Jr. |
| 22 | | and Raynor were recognized as the Illinois' Family Business of |
| 23 | | the Year by the Family Business Center of Loyola University of |
| 24 | | Chicago; and |
|

| 1 | | WHEREAS, In 1993, Raymond Neisewander, Jr. was honored by |
| 2 | | the Illinois State Board of Education with the prestigious |
| 3 | | Award of Excellence for his longstanding support of schools; in |
| 4 | | 1996, the Dixon Area Chamber of Commerce presented him with its |
| 5 | | annual Lifetime Achievement Award; and
|
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Raymond Neisewander, Jr. was preceded in death by |
| 7 | | his parents; his sister, Margaret Bradley his |
| 8 | | great-granddaughter, Malia Hammond; and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Raymond Neisewander, Jr. is survived by his wife, |
| 10 | | Kim Neisewander; his sons, Ray (Cindy) Neisewander III, Todd |
| 11 | | Neisewander, and Dan (Tara) Yanes; his daughters, Tammy (Steve) |
| 12 | | Reuter, Jennifer Danreiter, Debra Neisewander, Pamela (Tony) |
| 13 | | Russo, Karla (Ken) Shioi, Darcy (Brian) Boatman, and Lori |
| 14 | | (Jason) Burchell; his 26 grandchildren; his 2 |
| 15 | | great-grandchildren; his siblings, Catherine (Ed) Vespa, |
| 16 | | Patricia (Bill) Harford, Eleanora (George) Lyons, and Jack |
| 17 | | (Dee) Neisewander, Sr.; therefore, be it
|
| 18 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 19 | | NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
| 20 | | we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of |
| 21 | | Raymond H. Neisewander, Jr.; and be it further
