| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives are pleased to congratulate the Teutopolis | ||||||
| 4 | Junior High School baseball team, the Wooden Shoes, on winning | ||||||
| 5 | the 2013 Illinois Elementary School Association (IESA) | ||||||
| 6 | Division 2A State Championship; and
| ||||||
| 7 | WHEREAS, The Wooden Shoes are: Ian Addis, Mitch Apke, Adam | ||||||
| 8 | Bergfeld, Jared Bloemer, Michael Deters, Lucas Drees, Ethyn | ||||||
| 9 | Dust, Collin Funneman, Jack Goeckner, Josh Hardiek, Lee | ||||||
| 10 | Hardiek, Jacob Herd, Drew Heuerman, Andy Isley, Cody Jansen, | ||||||
| 11 | Landon Jansen, Clint Koester, Eric Kremer, Tristen Lowrance, | ||||||
| 12 | Drew Mette, Trent Myers, Brad Oseland, Derek Ozenkoski, | ||||||
| 13 | Mitchell Pals, Noah Probst, Tyler Runde, Damon Sabo, Dawson | ||||||

| 17 | WHEREAS, The Wooden Shoes are led by Head Coach Kent | ||||||
| 18 | Niebrugge and Assistant Coaches Alex Ritz and John Bushur; and | ||||||
| 19 | WHEREAS, The Wooden Shoes placed second in the State for | ||||||
| 20 | the IESA Division 2A in 2008 and 2010, and won a State title in | ||||||
| 21 | 2011; and

| 1 | WHEREAS, The Wooden Shoes entered the Division 2A IESA | ||||||
| 2 | State baseball tournament having complied an impressive | ||||||
| 3 | regular season record of 19 wins and 4 losses; they advanced | ||||||
| 4 | through the tournament by beating an undefeated team in the | ||||||
| 5 | quarterfinals and winning by the mercy rule in the semi-finals, | ||||||
| 6 | all to face another undefeated team in the finals; and
| ||||||
| 7 | WHEREAS, The championship game took place on October 5th, | ||||||
| 8 | 2013 and was an offensive battle that resulted in a score of 11 | ||||||
| 9 | to 8 in favor of the Wooden Shoes; and
| ||||||
| 10 | WHEREAS, For the second time in 3 years, the Wooden Shoes | ||||||
| 11 | were declared the IESA Division 2A State baseball champions; | ||||||
| 12 | therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 13 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
| 14 | NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 15 | we congratulate the Teutopolis Junior High School baseball | ||||||
| 16 | team, the Wooden Shoes, on their 2013 State championship and | ||||||
| 17 | wish them many years of further success; and be it further
| ||||||
| 18 | RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be | ||||||
| 19 | presented to the Teutopolis Junior High School Wooden Shoes as | ||||||
| 20 | a symbol of our respect and esteem.
