HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate Gibson Area 
4Hospital and Health Services on 60 years of providing care to 
5the people of rural Ford County and the surrounding areas; and
 
6    WHEREAS, In order to reach more patients, Gibson Area 
7Hospital and Health Services expanded its services to include 4 
8Rural Health Clinics; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Gibson Area Hospital and Health Services has 
10received national recognition for its care, including 
11receiving a 5-Star Healthgrade rating for its Hip Fracture  and 
12Total Hip Replacement Procedures,  along with the Women's Choice 
13Award for Obstetric Services; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Gibson Area Hospital and Health Services has been 
15named the 1st in the Nation for Overall Patient Satisfaction; 
16and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, One of the biggest healthcare challenges across 
18our nation is the shortage of physicians who practice in rural 
19settings; and
  
 
20    WHEREAS, Because of its outstanding commitment to treating

1rural residents, Gibson Area Hospital and Health Services' Drs. 
2David Hagan, William Price, and Mark Spangler, have been 
3selected to the receive the Rural Physician of Excellence Award 
4by the Illinois Rural Health Association; therefore, be it
  
 
  
5    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
6NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
7we commend Gibson Area Hospital and  Health Services for the 
8impact it has had on  improving rural health; and be it further
  
 
9    RESOLVED, That we congratulate Drs. Hagan, Price, and 
10Spangler on being named 2013 Physicians of Excellence and 
11commend them for their selfless service to the community; and 
12be it further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
14presented to Gibson Area Hospital and Health Services as a 
15symbol of our respect and esteem.
