HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate Cheri Sisson on the 
4occasion of her retirement as the executive director of the 
5Hoffman Estates Chamber of Commerce and Industry on January 3, 
62013; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, Cheri Sisson has been the executive director since 
82008, and is only the second director in the organizations's 
9history; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Cheri Sisson came to her position as executive 
11director from the highly competitive hospitality industry; she 
12was an award-winning Director of Sales and Business Travel 
13manager and joined the organization at a time when many similar 
14organizations were dissolving amid the economic recession; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, Cheri Sisson brought to the organization a sense 
16of urgency to drive customers to member businesses while many 
17members were scrambling to save their businesses during the 
18worst economy since the Great Depression; she brought vital 
19information to her membership about financing opportunities, 
20electronic marketing, and changes to legislation that might 
21affect their industry; and

1    WHEREAS, Cheri Sisson has been a strong fiduciary for the 
2organization, maintaining membership and reinventing every 
3annual event; she has provided leadership, mentorship, and 
4guidance for those within the organization; therefore, be it
  
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
6NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
7we congratulate Cheri Sisson on her retirement as the executive 
8director of the Hoffman Estates Chamber of Commerce, and wish 
9her the best in all her future endeavors; and be it further
  
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
11presented to Cheri Sisson as an expression of our esteem and 
12respect.
