HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate the Rockford Rescue 
4Mission on the occasion of its 50th anniversary of serving the 
5Rockford community; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, The Rockford Rescue Mission opened its doors in 
71964 and has been dedicated to helping the homeless and needy 
8around the community ever since; and

  
 
9    WHEREAS, The Rockford Rescue Mission has provided 58,767 
10nights of lodging, 164,455 meals, 159,355 miscellaneous items, 
1110,019 counseling sessions, and 2,684 Hope Clinic patient 
12visits to those in need; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, The Rockford Rescue Mission works to serve the 
14community with integrity and excellence; the mission rejoices 
15in lives changed by God and instills core values, such as 
16living for the glory of God, and respecting human dignity, 
17which has helped Rockford Rescue Mission become a staple when 
18it comes to helping those in need; and
  
 
19    WHEREAS, Over the last 50 years, the Rockford Rescue 
20Mission has proved true to its mission statement, which has 
21allowed the Rescue Mission to be open for so many years and

1provide countless people with the help they need when they fall 
2on tough times; therefore, be it
  
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
4NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
5we congratulate the Rockford Rescue Mission on the occasion of 
6its 50th anniversary and wish the mission's volunteers 
7continued success in the future; and be it further
  
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
9presented to the Rockford Rescue Mission as a symbol of our 
10esteem and respect.
