HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate Barbara Taylor on 
4the occasion of her retirement from the Young Men's Christian 
5Association, after 29 years of service; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Barbara Taylor started her career in Michigan 
7where she grew up and attended college; she began with the 
8Michigan YMCA, in the field of childcare, from 1985 to 1994; 
9she became the Midwest regional lead for childcare and 
10represented the Midwest states, including Illinois, to the Y of 
11the USA; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Barbara Taylor was recognized as a leader and was 
13hired at the Y of USA located in Chicago; she worked with the Y 
14of USA from 1994 to 2006; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, Barbara Taylor worked for the Metro Chicago Y as 
16the Vice-President of Programs for from October 31, 2006 
17through 2008; she implemented some of the best practices 
18concerning programing during her tenure as Vice-President; and
  
 
19    WHEREAS, Barbara Taylor began working for her local Y, the 
20Indian Boundary YMCA, which is a branch of the Metro Chicago Y, 
21and worked there from September 5, 2008 to December of 2013;

1she was instrumental in growing the productivity of the farmers 
2market in Downers Grove, instituting healthy options for youth 
3and adults in the Y, and obtaining grand support from local 
4businesses; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Barbara Taylor exhibits the 4 core character 
6values of the YMCA: honesty, caring, respect, and 
7responsibility; she has continued to offer her services as a 
8volunteer upon her retirement; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Barbara Taylor's retirement became official on 
10December 20, 2013; therefore, be it
  
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
12NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
13we congratulate Barbara Taylor on her retirement from the Young 
14Men's Christian Association after 29 years of service; and be 
15it further
  
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
17presented to Barbara Taylor as an expression of our esteem and 
18respect.
