2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
3 | Representatives wish to congratulate the members of the Indian | ||||||
4 | Prairie Educational Foundation on the occasion of the | ||||||
5 | organization's 25th anniversary; and
| ||||||
6 | WHEREAS, The Indian Prairie Educational Foundation is a | ||||||
7 | non-profit, autonomous, tax-exempt organization directed by | ||||||
8 | citizen volunteers; the foundation's directors include | ||||||
9 | parents, business people, and other members of the District 204 | ||||||
10 | community, as well as the Superintendent and a representative | ||||||
11 | from the Board of Education; and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, The mission of the Indian Prairie Educational | ||||||
13 | Foundation is to support School District 204 in serving the | ||||||
14 | needs of all students through community outreach, financial | ||||||
15 | development, and innovative programs; the foundation also | ||||||
16 | seeks to fund projects which enhance student development, | ||||||
17 | encourage excellence through creative teaching, foster | ||||||
18 | school-community partnerships, and support the School District | ||||||
19 | 204 curriculum, particularly in the arts, sciences, and | ||||||
20 | technology areas; and
| ||||||
21 | WHEREAS, Since its creation in 1988, the Indian Prairie | ||||||
22 | Educational Foundation has provided more than $3 million in |

| |||||||
1 | educational enrichments for District 204 students, staff, and | ||||||
2 | schools; the foundation has also awarded more than $382,000 in | ||||||
3 | foundation mini-grants and $264,000 in Artist-in-Residence | ||||||
4 | grants and has sponsored many festivals, fairs, and other | ||||||
5 | activities for School District 204 students and faculty; and
| ||||||
6 | WHEREAS, The Indian Prairie Educational Foundation has | ||||||
7 | honored more than 1,200 of School District 204's graduating | ||||||
8 | high-school and middle-school students through its Excellence | ||||||
9 | in Education program; the foundation has also recognized about | ||||||
10 | 800 staff members who were nominated by these students because | ||||||
11 | of the influence they have had on their academic lives; and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, Over the past 25 years, the Indian Prairie | ||||||
13 | Educational Foundation has helped ensure that the students of | ||||||
14 | School District 204 have received the highest quality education | ||||||
15 | possible; therefore, be it
| ||||||
16 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
17 | NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
18 | we congratulate the members of the Indian Prairie Educational | ||||||
19 | Foundation on the occasion of the organization's 25th | ||||||
20 | anniversary and wish them continued success in the future; and | ||||||
21 | be it further

22 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
