HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to honor  Nancy Morgan for her 30 years of 
4service as Human Services Director for the Village of Mount 
5Prospect; and

  
 
6    WHEREAS, Ms. Morgan received both her bachelor's and 
7master's degrees from Illinois universities, earning her 
8Bachelor's Degree in Family Social Services from Northern 
9Illinois University and her Master's Degree in Social Work from 
10the University of Illinois; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, As head of Mount Prospect's Human Services 
12Department, Ms. Morgan was responsible for providing 
13short-term counseling to residents, reviewing Medicare claims, 
14and managing State, local, and federal assistance programs; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, Ms. Morgan presided over expansions in many 
16programs, including the Holiday Meal Basket program and helped 
17to establish the Community Connections Center, which assists 
18residents in understanding and applying for a wide range of 
19village services; and
  
 
20    WHEREAS, Despite budget cuts the department received in the 
21wake of the recent economic downturn, the Mount Prospect Human

1Services Department has seen its staff more than double during 
2Ms. Morgan's tenure, growing from 6 employees in 1984 to its 
3current size of 10 full-time employees and 5 interns; and
  
 
4    WHEREAS, Ms. Morgan was credited by Mount Prospect Village 
5Manager Michael Janonis as being instrumental in the ongoing 
6success of the Human Services Department; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Ms. Morgan will be retiring from her role as Human 
8Services Director for the Village of Mount Prospect in February 
9of 2014 after 30 years of service; therefore, be it
  
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
11NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
12we honor Nancy Morgan for her 30 years of service as Human 
13Services Director for the Village of Mount Prospect and wish 
14her many happy and healthy years to come; and be it further
  
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
16presented to Nancy Morgan as a symbol of our esteem and 
17respect.
