HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are pleased to
congratulate Abraham Ourth of 
4Boy Scout Troop 24 in Riverside on achieving the rank of Eagle 
5Scout on October 15, 2013; and
  
 
  
6    WHEREAS, Abraham  Ourth started scouting as a Tiger Cub in 
7first grade, advancing through the Cub
Scout ranks of Wolf, 
8Bear, and Webelos, and earning the Arrow of Light, the highest 
9award in
Cub Scouts; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Abraham Ourth advanced through the Boy Scout ranks 
11of Tenderfoot, Second Class, First Class,
Star, and Life, 
12culminating in the rank of Eagle Scout, of which, over the 
13history of scouting, only 2% of scouts have attained; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Abraham Ourth participated in several of 
15scouting's highest adventures at Philmont Scout
Ranch in 
16Cimarron, New Mexico and Florida Sea Base in Islamorada, 
17Florida; and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, Abraham Ourth completed his Eagle project by 
19building bat houses for mosquito control
at Camp Nauvoo; and
  
 
  
20    WHEREAS, Abraham Ourth has been active in serving in his

1community, church, and school; and
  
 
2    WHEREAS, Abraham Ourth will celebrate his achievement with 
3a Court of Honor on March 16, 2014
at Riverside Presbyterian 
4Church, the chartering organization for Troop 24,
since 1939; 
5therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
7NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
8we congratulate Abraham Ourth on achieving the rank of Eagle 
9Scout and wish him many more years of success; and be it 
10further
  
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
12presented to Abraham Ourth as an expression
of our respect and 
13esteem.
