HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate Gregory L. Wright 
4on the occasion of his retirement from his position as 
5Superintendent of the Posen-Robbins School District; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Gregory Wright was born in Chicago to Paul and 
7Jeanette Wright; he graduated from Eisenhower High School in 
8Blue Island in 1970; he earned his  bachelor's degree from 
9Wisconsin State University in 1975, his Master of Arts in 
10secondary education from Governors State University in 1988, 
11and his Master of Science in Education Administration in 1991, 
12also from Governors State University; he received his 
13certificate of Advanced Study with a Superintendent's 
14endorsement from Loyola University in 1994; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, Gregory Wright began his career in 1976 at 
16Eisenhower High School as a physical education/health and 
17history teacher, where he doubled as a coach in football and 
18wrestling from 1976 to 1992; in 1992, he was promoted to 
19Assistant Principal and Athletic Director at Eisenhower High 
20School; in 1994, he worked as Interim Superintendent for Hazel 
21Crest School District 152 1/2 and then as Assistant Principal 
22at the Keller School with the Posen-Robbins School District;

1    WHEREAS, Gregory Wright married Joann Drake on July 26, 
21980 and they had 3 children, David and Terrence in 1981, and 
3Lynnette in 1987; and
  
 
4    WHEREAS, In 1995, Gregory Wright founded a successful 
5temporary employment agency; he re-entered the education field 
6in 2001 and became the Superintendent of the Posen-Robbins 
7School District and steered it through a period of continued 
8progress; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Gregory Wright, along with his family, are 
10faithful members of New Faith Baptist Church  International in 
11Matteson; he served as a trustee for the Village of Robbins 
12from 1998 to 2007 and on the Posen-Robbins Board of Education 
13for 16 years, 8 of those as Board President; therefore, be it
 

  
14    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
15NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
16we congratulate Gregory L. Wright on his retirement  as 
17Superintendent of the Posen-Robbins School District, and wish 
18him the best in all his future endeavors; and be it further
  
 
19    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
20presented to Gregory Wright as an expression of our esteem and 
21respect.
