HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Paul 
4Vernon "Skipper" Bishop, CLU, ChFC, of Olney, who passed away 
5on March 15, 2014; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Paul Bishop was born in Harco on September 6, 1946 
7to Vollie and Mary Ann (nee Griffiths) Bishop; he attended 
8Equality schools throughout his childhood and graduated from 
9Equality High School in 1964; he married Susie Crayne in 1965 
10and graduated with a bachelor's degree from Southern Illinois 
11University in Carbondale in 1968; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Paul Bishop was a dedicated employee of Country 
13Companies (Country Financial) for 39 years, working as an 
14agent, manager, district director, vice-president, and as 
15senior vice-president; along the way he received a number of 
16awards and supervised and mentored agents and managers 
17throughout the United States; he retired in 2011; and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, Paul Bishop was an avid fan of the Illini, Chicago 
19Cubs, and Chicago Bears; he enjoyed fishing, hunting at 
20Cave-in-Rock, golfing, playing cards, family trips, mushroom 
21hunting, and fish frying for family and friends; and

1    WHEREAS, Paul Bishop was preceded in death by his mother, 
2Mary Bishop Bennett; his father, Vollie Bishop; his 
3step-father, John Bennett; his brother, Vollie Bishop, Jr.; and 
4his nephew, Chris Bishop; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Paul Bishop was brother to Vollie Bishop, Jr., 
6Larry Bishop, and Johnita (nee Bennett) (Jim) Moore; father to 
7Christy (Greg Niktas), Courtney, and Paul II (Brandy Bishop); 
8and grandpa to Emma, John, Lucy, William, Bailee, and one on 
9the way; therefore, be it
  
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
11NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
12we mourn the passing of Paul Vernon "Skipper" Bishop, CLU, 
13ChFC, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, 
14friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further
  
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
16presented to Paul Bishop as an expression of our deepest 
17sympathy.
