HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate the Mother McAuley 
4High School volleyball team, the Mighty Macs, on winning the 
52014 Illinois High School Association Class 4A State 
6championship; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, The Mighty Macs captured their record 14th girls' 
8volleyball State title with a 25-22 and 25-19 victory against 
92-time defending champs, Benet Academy, at Redbird Arena in 
10Normal; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, In the 2013-2014 season, the Mighty Macs compiled 
12an impressive record of 40 wins and 2 losses, with no losses to 
13any other Illinois-based team and winning the last 17 
14consecutive matches; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, The Mighty Macs have a storied history with 9 
16State titles from 1984 to 2004; and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, This is the Mighty Macs' first title under head 
18coach, Jen DeJarld, and assistant coach, Meg Gardner; and
  
 
19    WHEREAS, The Might Macs are Kennedy Arundel, Jenny Phelan, 
20Ryann DeJarld, Mallory Maxwell, Carla Cahill, Amber Casey,

1Courtney Joyce, Maggie Scanlon, Caeley Hynes, Claire Martin, 
2Lauren Carlson, Maddie Meyer, Kayla Caffey, Kelsey Clark, Molly 
3Geary, and Gabrielle Ennis; therefore, be it
  
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
5NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
6we congratulate the Mother McAuley High School volleyball team, 
7the Mighty Macs, on winning the 2014 Illinois High School 
8Association Class 4A State championship; and be it further
  
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
10presented to the Mother McAuley High School volleyball team as 
11an expression of our esteem and respect.
