HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of  Raymond 
4Card of Waukegan, who passed away on March 24, 2014; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Raymond Card grew up on a farm in Lake County and 
6was a longtime resident of Waukegan; he graduated from 
7Grayslake Community High School in the early 1950s; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Raymond Card was a member of the Lake County 
9Republican Federation's Board of Governors and a longtime 
10volunteer for the Lake County Republican Federation; he was 
11also involved in countless activities for the Republican Party 
12for decades, from mailing Spring Gala invitations to driving 
13the Republican trailer in summer parades; and

  
 
14    WHEREAS, Raymond Card was the recipient of many honors 
15throughout his life, including the Robert J. Milton Award by 
16the Lake County Republican Federation; he also received a 
17special Lifetime Achievement award from the Lake County 
18Republican Federation at its 51st annual Spring Gala in 
19recognition of his work for the organization; therefore, be it
  
 
20    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
21NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that

1we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of 
2Raymond Card; and be it further
  
 
3    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
4presented to the family of Raymond Card as an expression of our 
5sympathy.
