HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of  Eddie 
4Simmons, Jr., who passed away on April 4, 2014; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Eddie Simmons, Jr. was born in West Palm Beach, 
6Florida; he lived in Aurora for 54 years; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, Eddie Simmons, Jr. served his country as a member 
8of the United States Army in the Philippines during World War 
9II; and

  
 
10    WHEREAS, Eddie Simmons, Jr. is survived by his wife of 25 
11years, Emma Yvonne Simmons; daughters, Eddie Ruth Jackson, 
12Shirley Simmons, Catherine Muhammad, and Jacqueline Simmons; 
13son, Eddie Sundiate (Lynette) Simmons; stepsons, Anthony 
14(Deidra) Dennie and Rodney Holmes; sisters, Willie Jane Simmons 
15and Rose (Charles) Henley; sisters-in-law, Mary Jo Dennie, 
16Varanda Landry, and Bertha Simmons; brothers-in-law, Bobbie 
17Dennie and Henry Williams; 15 grandchildren; 23 
18great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, other 
19relatives, and friends; therefore, be it
  
 
20    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
21NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that

1we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of 
2Eddie Simmons, Jr.; and be it further
