HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The International Association of Ministers' Wives 
3and Ministers' Widows, Inc. was founded in 1940 by Dr. 
4Elizabeth Coles Bouey as an organization based on love, faith, 
5and prayer; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, The International Association of Ministers' Wives 
7and Ministers' Widows, Inc. is international and 
8interdenominational with 102 different denominations; the 
9organization is divided into regions, with the Central Region 
10comprised of Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, West Virginia, 
11and Wisconsin; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Dr. Elizabeth Coles Bouey was called and ordained 
13by God to travel the world throughout West Africa ministering 
14to God's people; she subsequently organized a group of 
15ministers' wives, teaching, engaging, and empowering them to 
16become more effective in kingdom and power building; and

  
 
17    WHEREAS, Seventy-four years later, the International 
18Association of Ministers' Wives and Ministers' Widows, Inc. 
19still serves the great people of God through community service, 
20awarding scholarships and endowments to various non-profit 
21organizations; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
2NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
3we congratulate Dr. Beverly W. Glover, Ruth G. Mosley, and 
4Gladys Piper on the occasion of the International Association 
5of Ministers' Wives and Ministers' Widows, Inc.'s 32nd Central 
6Regional Conference in Lisle from May 16 - May 17, 2014; and be 
7it further
  
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
9presented to the International Association of Ministers' Wives 
10and Ministers' Widows, Inc. as a symbol of our respect and 
11esteem.
