HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate the Southeastern 
4Illinois College (SIC) archery team on winning an impressive 5 
5national championships; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, In 2012, the Women's Bow Hunter National Champions 
7were Ashley Evans of Harrisburg, Kailee Irvin of West 
8Frankfort, and Tori Lewis of Galatia; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, In 2013, the Men's Bow Hunter National Champions 
10were Aaron Head of Harrisburg, Trevor Nelson of Carmi, and 
11Jordan Walker of Carrier Mills; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, In 2013, the Mixed Team Bow Hunter National 
13Champions were Aaron Head, and Hannah Dudley of Stonefort; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, In 2013, the Men's Compound National Champions 
15were Eric Janssen of Kankakee, Tyler Butts of St. Peter, and 
16Allen Kuhnert of Taylorville; and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, In 2013, the National Bow Hunter Individual 
18Champion was Aaron Head; and
  
 
19    WHEREAS, SIC's 5 national titles were won at the United

1States Intercollegiate Archery Championships hosted by the 
2University of Missouri - Columbia and sponsored by the U.S. 
3Collegiate Archery Association (USCAA); SIC competed against 
4varsity teams from major Division I schools, including Michigan 
5State University, the University of Wisconsin - La Crosse, Penn 
6State University, Purdue University, the University of 
7Missouri - Columbia, Missouri State University, West Virginia 
8University, and the University of Nebraska - Lincoln; and
 
9    WHEREAS, SIC's archery team was organized in the Spring of 
102012 and started competing on the national tournament circuit 
11in the fall of that year; in 2 years, it has accumulated 5 
12national championships; of the 45 USCAA All-Americans named in 
132013, 8 were from Southeastern Illinois College: Aaron Head, 
14Trevor Nelson, Jordan Walker, Hannah Dudley, Eric Janssen, 
15Tyler Butts, Allen Kuhnert, and Josh Bailey of Carrier Mills; 
16therefore, be it
 
17    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
18NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
19we congratulate the Southeastern Illinois College archery team 
20on winning 5 national championships, and wish them many more 
21years of success; and be it further
  
 
22    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
23presented to the Southeastern Illinois College archery team as
