HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate Percy Edmonds, Sr. of 
4Chicago, on the occasion of his 70th birthday; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Percy Edmonds, Sr. was born in Helena, Arkansas on 
6May 18, 1944 to Nellie Jackson and Sprigg Edmonds; he moved to 
7the Chicagoland area in 1960 where he met the love of his life 
8and wife of 51 years, Joyce Ellebb; he was a resident of 
9Broadview from 1969 to 1989 and then settled in  Chicago; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Percy Edmonds, Sr. is the father of 6, grandfather 
11of 15, and great-grandfather of 4; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Percy Edmonds, Sr. worked for General Motors for 
1326 years from 1969 to 1995, retiring as an Arc Welder; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Percy Edmonds, Sr. is a 33 1/3 degree Mason; he 
15taught all of his children baseball and softball; and
  
 
  
16    WHEREAS, Percy Edmonds, Sr. has always valued hard work, 
17family, and loyalty; he has always kept his word and has 
18imported his wisdom to his kids and grandkids; therefore, be it
  
 
19    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE

1NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
2we congratulate Percy Edmonds, Sr. on  his 70th birthday, and 
3wish him many more wonderful years; and be it further
  
 
4    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
5presented to Percy Edmonds, Sr. as an expression of our esteem 
6and respect.
