HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of John Edward Keane of Springfield, who passed away on May 9, 2014; and

WHEREAS, John Keane was born in Chicago on September 10, 1938 to Patrick J. and Nora Kelly Keane; he earned his bachelor's degree in Sociology from Loyola University in 1960 and served his country in the United States Army; he married Irene Duffy who preceded him in death; he later married Rosalie Henebry on August 1, 1987 at St. Ignatius in Chicago; and

WHEREAS, John Keane worked as a healthcare administrator for many years, serving in Chicago, Niles, and Arthur until his retirement in 2003; after retirement, he was an usher for the Illinois House of Representatives for 10 years; and

WHEREAS, John Keane was a member of Church of the Little Flower, where he participated in the Gift Program; he enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, cooking, reading, volunteering at the University of Illinois Auditorium, building things, and tinkering in the garage; and

WHEREAS, John Keane was preceded in death by his first wife, Irene; his parents; and a sister, Patricia Keane; and

WHEREAS, John Keane is survived by his wife, Rosalie Keane; 5 children, Matthew (Carole) Keane, Patrick (Sonja) Keane, Michael (Margaret) Keane, Theresa Keane, and Daniel (Melissa) Keane; 7 grandchildren; sister, Eleanora Feltz; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of John Edward Keane, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of John Keane as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
