HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate the Rock Valley 
4College softball team, the Golden Eagles, on winning the 2014 
5National Junior College Athletic Association national 
6championship  (NJCAA); and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, The Golden Eagles finished the 2013-2014 season 
8with a program single-season record 42 wins and its members 
9accumulated a multitude of achievements and recognitions 
10throughout their championship run; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Amanda Blakenship was named to the All-Region 1st 
12Team and selected as All-Conference Most Valuable Player, the 
13NJCAA Tournament Most Valuable Player, and Pitcher of the 
14Tournament; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Hannah Anderson was named to the Region IV 
16All-Tournament Team; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Kaitlyn Appleman was named to  the NJCAA 
18All-Tournament Team; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Ashley Brant was named to the All-Conference 2nd 
20Team and the All-Region 2nd Team; and

1    WHEREAS, Kaytee Keefe was named to the All-Region 1st Team 
2and the NJCAA All-Tournament Team; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Haley Love was named to the All-Conference 1st 
4Team, the Region IV All-Tournament Team, and the NJCAA 
5All-Tournament Team; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Katie Meyer was named to the All-Conference 2nd 
7Team, the All-Region 2nd Team, and the Region IV All-Tournament 
8Team; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Callina Rockey was named to the All-Conference 2nd 
10Team and the Region IV All-Tournament Team; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Danielle Walker was named to the All-Conference 
121st Team, the All-Region 1st Team, and the NJCAA All-Tournament 
13Team; and
  
 
  
14    WHEREAS, Head Coach Darin Monroe was named Region IV Coach 
15of the Year, N4C Coach of the Year, and the NJCAA Tournament 
16Coach of the Tournament; and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, The leadership that these players and their head 
18coach displayed was invaluable to the Golden Eagles' national 
19championship; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
2NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
3we congratulate the Rock Valley College softball team, the 
4Golden Eagles, on winning the 2014 National Junior College 
5Athletic Association national championship and wish them many 
6more years of success; and be it further
  
 
7    RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be 
8presented to the Golden Eagles as an expression of our esteem 
9and respect.
