HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate Vern Case, Jr. on 
4the occasion of his retirement from the Streamwood Fire 
5Department after nearly 24 years of service; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Vern Case, Jr. joined the Streamwood Fire 
7Department on April 4, 1990 and officially retired on February 
84, 2014; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Vern Case, Jr. is a State-certified paramedic with 
10over 20 years of service; he is also State-certified as a 
11Firefighter II, Firefighter III, Fire Apparatus Engineer, and 
12Fire Officer 1; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Vern Case, Jr. has been involved in the Juvenile 
14Fire Setters program, in public education as the fire 
15department's puppeteer, as the department quarter master, and 
16with the SCBA maintenance division; he served as treasurer of 
17the Professional Firefighters Association Local 3022 and is a 
18member of the Illinois Association of Fire Fighters State Honor 
19Guard; and
  
 
20    WHEREAS, Vern Case, Jr. and his wife, Teresa, have a son, 
21Vern III and 3 daughters, Renee, Courtney, and Valerie; he

1enjoys camping and fishing; and
  
 
2    WHEREAS, A celebration will be held honoring Vern Case, Jr. 
3on May 23, 2014 at the Fireside Ale House in Streamwood; 
4therefore, be it
  
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
6NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
7we congratulate Vern Case, Jr. on his retirement from the 
8Streamwood Fire Department after nearly 24 years of service; 
9and be it further
  
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
11presented to Vern Case, Jr. as an expression of our esteem and 
12respect.
