HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate  Darlene Bull on the 
4occasion of her retirement from the Joliet Public Library; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Darlene Bull has been an outstanding employee of 
6the Joliet Public Library since September of 1978, when she was 
7hired on a part-time temporary basis; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, During her tenure with the library, Darlene Bull 
9has worked in the library's circulation department as Head of 
10Circulation; she has also worked as Retrospective Collection 
11Manager, Adult Fiction Selector, Public Service Projects 
12Coordinator, and Interim Manager of Technical Services; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Darlene Bull worked tirelessly assisting the 
14Youth Services Department and the Circulation Department with 
15their recovery from the fire of April 19, 1989, which destroyed 
16much of the library's youth services collection; and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, Darlene Bull has represented the Joliet Public 
18Library in many city and State organizations and committees, 
19notably the Community Services Council, on which she serves as 
20board member and membership chair; her community contacts have 
21also benefited library services enormously; and

1    WHEREAS, Darlene Bull has developed and shown a depth of 
2knowledge about the Joliet Public Library's history and 
3collection that enabled her to be an effective support for 
4library administration and staff; and
 
5    WHEREAS, After 35 years of dedicated service, Darlene Bull 
6announced her retirement date of May 26, 2014; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, Darlene Bull has given tirelessly to the 
8well-being of Joliet Public Library patrons and staff and all 
9are better for her efforts; therefore, be it
  
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
11NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
12we congratulate Darlene Bull on the occasion of her retirement 
13and wish her continued success and happiness in the future; and 
14be it further
  
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
16presented to Darlene Bull as a symbol of our esteem and 
17respect.
