HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate  Rev. Ira J. Acree, Senior 
4Pastor of Greater St. John Bible Church, on the celebration of 
5his 25th pastoral anniversary; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, On May 14, 1989, Rev. Ira Acree became the pastor 
7of Greater St. John Holiness Church, whose name was later 
8changed to Greater St. John Bible Church; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Rev. Ira Acree is a tireless advocate for 
10empowerment, championing principles of entrepreneurship, 
11education, economics, and evangelism; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Over the past 9 years, Rev. Ira Acree has elected 
13to provide college scholarships to deserving college bound 
14students from the Austin community; his great passion for 
15education led him to collaborate with many partners, 
16parishioners, and friends over the years to be able to award 
17over $150,000 in scholarships; and

  
 
18    WHEREAS, Rev. Ira Acree and Sister Acree feel that God has 
19divinely placed them at Greater St. John to play a pivotal role 
20in strengthening families, transform their community, and 
21change the world; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
2NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
3we congratulate Reverend Ira J. Acree on this auspicious 
4accomplishment of 25 pastoral years, commend him on his 
5efforts, and wish him much continued success in his future 
6endeavors; and be it further
  
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution presented 
8to Rev. Ira Acree as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
