2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
3 | | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Paul A. |
4 | | Lutter of Chicago, who passed away on May 4, 2014; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Paul Lutter was born on February 28, 1946; he |
6 | | earned his bachelor's degree in economics from Carleton College |
7 | | in Northfield, Minnesota, where he graduated magna cum laude |
8 | | and was a member of Phi Beta Kappa; he received his Juris |
9 | | Doctor from Yale University Law School in 1971; and
|
10 | | WHEREAS, Paul Lutter returned to Chicago following |
11 | | graduation and joined Ross & Hardies LLP, staying there through |
12 | | the firm's merger with McGuireWoods LLP; in 2004, he joined the |
13 | | firm Bryan, Cave LLP; and
|
14 | | WHEREAS, Paul Lutter was well-known for his philanthropic |
15 | | support of the LGBT and arts communities; he was instrumental |
16 | | in the founding of the Howard Brown Health Center which opened |
17 | | on October 4, 1997 with Mr. Lutter serving as board president; |
18 | | the center provides health and social services to more than |
19 | | 18,000 people every year at its 5 Chicago-area locations; |
20 | | residents visit every day for inexpensive medical care, free |
21 | | HIV testing, and other sensitive clinical work; and |
