| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 | | Representatives wish to congratulate Frank Alschuler of |
| 4 | | Chicago on the occasion of his 90th birthday on September 10, |
| 5 | | 2014; and
|
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Frank Alschuler was born on September 10, 1924; he |
| 7 | | attended George B. Swift Elementary School, the University of |
| 8 | | Chicago Laboratory School, Dartmouth College, and the Yale |
| 9 | | School of Architecture; he served in the United States Navy and |
| 10 | | married Marjorie on July 24, 1960; they settled on Junior |
| 11 | | Terrace in 1965; and
|
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Frank Alschuler served on the boards of the Voice |
| 13 | | of the People of Uptown, and Model Cities; he and his wife were |
| 14 | | active in neighborhood organizations for their whole lives; and
|
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Frank Alschuler is one of the founders of the |
| 16 | | Community Counseling Centers of Chicago (C4), and served on its |
| 17 | | board for 42 years; he has had a life-long commitment to mental |
| 18 | | health, and has been a driving force in the life and growth of |
| 19 | | the organization; he was a licensed architect and did almost |
| 20 | | all of C4's space planning, always billing out the plans pro |
| 21 | | bono; as his children were growing up they spent their free |
| 22 | | time painting the walls at C4 Clark on North Clark with their |
