HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate Adam Munds for 
4receiving the "2014 Most Innovative Blood Drive Coordinator 
5Award" from the Illinois Coalition of Community Blood Centers; 
6and
 
7    WHEREAS, On October 31, 2000, Adam Munds was born premature 
8with an extremely low platelet count and relied greatly on 
9donations from volunteer blood donors, which allowed him to 
10grow into a healthy child; and
 
11    WHEREAS, As Adam Munds grew older he developed a passion to 
12help others as he had been helped through blood donation; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, In 2011, Adam Munds organized his first Radio 
14Control Car (RC) Fest in Tolono and donated the proceeds to his 
15local blood center, and, in 2012, he added a blood drive in 
16conjunction with the event; and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, Adam Munds has made the RC Fest and Blood Drive an 
18annual event which, under his leadership, has grown to include 
19participants from multiple states and has heightened awareness 
20each year on the importance of blood donation; and

1    WHEREAS, Adam Munds included a blood drive as part of his 
213th birthday celebrations; and
  
 
3    WHEREAS, Adams Munds promotes blood donation not only at 
4his event but encourages regular blood donation in his 
5community throughout the year; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, In 2014, Community Blood Services of Illinois, 
7which in 2011 merged with the Mississippi Valley Regional Blood 
8Center, nominated Adam Munds as the "Most Innovative Blood 
9Drive Coordinator" in a Statewide competition hosted by the 
10Illinois Coalition of Community Blood Centers; therefore, be it
  
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
12NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
13we commend Adam Munds on his enthusiasm, selfless service, and 
14commitment to the community, and wish him continued success 
15with his blood drive collection efforts; and be it further
  
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
17presented to Adam Munds as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
