HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, September 12, 2014 marks the 10th anniversary of 
3the Aurora Hispanic Pioneers Committee annual breakfast; and
  
 
4    WHEREAS, The Hispanic Pioneers Breakfast has honored 
5Hispanics who have influenced Aurora's progress; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, The inaugural event honored the migration of the 
7first Hispanics to Aurora and the historical significance of 
8the Eola Boxcar Camp; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, In subsequent years, the breakfast has honored 
10Hispanics who: have risked their lives on the battlefield; 
11served as public safety officers; became the city's first 
12Hispanic business owners, the city's first Hispanic teachers, 
13health care professionals, and those dedicated to the arts; and 
14those who founded area sports leagues; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, The 10th anniversary breakfast will honor 
16Aurora's Unsung Heroes; and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, Aurora 2nd Ward Alderman Juany Garza has been an 
18instrumental part of the Aurora Hispanic Pioneers Committee; 
19therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
2NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
3we congratulate Aurora 2nd Ward Alderman Juany Garza and the 
4Aurora Hispanic Pioneers Committee on the occasion of the 10th 
5anniversary of the Aurora Hispanic Pioneers Committee annual 
6breakfast and wish them continued success in their future 
7endeavors; and be it further
  
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
9presented to Aurora Second Ward Alderman Juany Garza and the 
10Aurora Hispanic Pioneers Committee as an expression of our 
11esteem and respect.
