HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate Dr. Jennifer 
4Maneja on the occasion of receiving the 2014 Rural Physician of 
5Excellence Award from the Illinois Rural Health Association; 
6and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, One of the biggest healthcare challenges across 
8our nation is the shortage of physicians who practice in rural 
9settings; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, In 1999, Dr. Maneja earned her medical degree from 
11the University of the East Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical 
12Center in the Philippines; in 2005, she completed her residency 
13at Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow, New York; 
14and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, Dr. Maneja is board-certified in Internal 
16Medicine and Geriatric Medicine; and

  
 
17    WHEREAS, Dr. Maneja began working at Clay County Hospital 
18in 2006; since that time, the care and expertise that Dr. 
19Maneja provides has become vital to area residents, especially 
20the elderly and hospice patients; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
2NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
3we commend Dr. Jennifer Maneja for her selfless service to her 
4community and the impact she has made on improving rural health 
5and congratulate her for winning the 2014 Rural Physician of 
6Excellence Award; and be it further
  
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
8presented to Dr. Maneja as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
