| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 | | Representatives are pleased to
congratulate Dr. Dirk Rosenberg |
| 4 | | on receiving the "2014 Rural Physician of Excellence
Award" |
| 5 | | from the Illinois Rural Health Association; and
|
| 6 | | WHEREAS, One of the biggest healthcare challenges across |
| 7 | | our nation is the shortage of
physicians who practice in rural |
| 8 | | settings; and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, In 1978, Dr. Rosenberg earned his medical degree |
| 10 | | from the University of the
Guadalajara and completed additional |
| 11 | | clinical training at the University of Illinois at
Peoria |
| 12 | | School of Medicine in 1979; and
|
| 13 | | WHEREAS, In 1981, Dr. Rosenberg completed his residency in |
| 14 | | general surgery at Saint Francis Medical Center and completed a |
| 15 | | second residency in general surgery in 1983
at the Marshfield |
| 16 | | Clinic and Ministry Saint Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield, |
| 17 | | Wisconsin; and
|
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Rosenberg began his career at Richland |
| 19 | | Memorial Hospital in 1983; and
|
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Rosenberg has held fellow status in the |
|

| 1 | | American College of Emergency
Physicians since 1992 and is |
| 2 | | Board certified in Emergency Medicine; and
|
| 3 | | WHEREAS, Since 1998, working with Southern Illinois |
| 4 | | University's Physician Assistant Program, Dr. Rosenberg served |
| 5 | | as the
Clinical Hub Medical Supervisor, and in 2001, 2010, and |
| 6 | | 2013, was voted "Preceptor of
the Year" for his leadership and |
| 7 | | dedication; and
|
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Rosenberg's commitment to always raising the |
| 9 | | bar for patient services in
the community is evident in his |
| 10 | | years of service on a variety of Richland Memorial
Hospital's |
| 11 | | committees including ER, Emergency Preparedness, Pharmacy &
|
| 12 | | Therapeutics, and Infection Control; therefore, be it
|
| 13 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 14 | | NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
|
| 15 | | we congratulate Dr. Dirk Rosenberg on receiving the "2014 Rural |
| 16 | | Physician of Excellence Award" and commend him for the over 30 |
| 17 | | years of self-less service that he has provided his
community |
| 18 | | and the impact he has made on improving rural health; and be it |
| 19 | | further
|
| 20 | | RESOLVED, That suitable copy of this
resolution be |
| 21 | | presented to Dr. Rosenberg as a symbol of our respect and |
| 22 | | esteem.
