HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate  the administration and 
4faculty of the Suburban Law Enforcement Academy at the College 
5of DuPage on the occasion of the Academy's 20th anniversary on 
6October 10, 2014; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, The Suburban Law Enforcement Academy is one of 6 
8certified academies in the State of Illinois; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, From 1994 to 2014, the Academy has graduated from 
10its basic program 2,878 police officers representing 
11approximately 216 police agencies, serving municipalities, 
12sheriff's offices, university and college police, railroad 
13police, and forest preserve district police departments 
14throughout Illinois; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, The Academy's continuing education program began 
16in 1999; the program has provided the latest in police training 
17methods to 26,210 attendees from 1,880 agencies in Illinois, 
18other states, and Canada; and

  
 
19    WHEREAS, The Academy has a 99% success rate for graduation 
20and is extremely proud of the recruits and its faculty;

1    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
2NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
3we congratulate the administration and faculty of the Suburban 
4Law Enforcement Academy on the occasion of the Academy's 20th 
5anniversary and wish them continued success  in their future 
6endeavors; and be it further
  
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
8presented to the Suburban Law Enforcement Academy as a symbol 
9of our esteem and respect.
