| 1 | HOUSE RESOLUTION

| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives wish to congratulate Terry Moore on the | ||||||
| 4 | occasion of his retirement from the Randolph County Board of | ||||||
| 5 | Commissioners; and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, Terry Moore has served as a commissioner for 26 | ||||||
| 7 | years and is the longest-serving commissioner in the history of | ||||||
| 8 | the board; he was elected in 1988 when he defeated Kenny | ||||||
| 9 | Stellhorn, who is believed to be the second longest-serving | ||||||
| 10 | commissioner in the board's history; and
| ||||||
| 11 | WHEREAS, Terry Moore's accomplishments include serving as | ||||||
| 12 | a member and president of the Illinois Counties Insurance Trust | ||||||
| 13 | and serving on the Randolph County Weed Committee, the | ||||||
| 14 | Bi-County Health Department Board, the Randolph County Mental | ||||||
| 15 | Health Board, the Randolph County Zoning Board, and the | ||||||
| 16 | Memorial Hospital Board in Chester; he was awarded the | ||||||
| 17 | Distinguished Service Award from the Illinois Department of | ||||||
| 18 | Human Services; and
| ||||||
| 19 | WHEREAS, Terry Moore is certified with the State of | ||||||
| 20 | Illinois Department of Public Health in food service | ||||||
| 21 | sanitation, the Federal Emergency Management Agency's | ||||||
| 22 | Emergency Management Institute, and Contemporary Life Saving | ||||||

| |||||||
| 1 | Training; and
| ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, Terry Moore is known as "The Voice of W.O. Smith | ||||||
| 3 | Field" and has announced freshman, sophomore, and varsity | ||||||
| 4 | football games for approximately 30 years; he serves on the | ||||||
| 5 | Finance Committee at St. Mary Parish and was voted "Citizen of | ||||||
| 6 | the Year" by the Chester Chamber of Commerce in 1983; he is a | ||||||
| 7 | past member of Rotary International and is currently the Grand | ||||||
| 8 | Knight at the Knights of Columbus Council #3790; he was crowned | ||||||
| 9 | the very first Popeye King - his mother was the Queen - and he | ||||||
| 10 | is an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan; and
| ||||||
| 11 | WHEREAS, Terry Moore will also retire from his position as | ||||||
| 12 | Assistant Business Administrator at the Chester Mental Health | ||||||
| 13 | Center, where he has worked for the past 11 years; previously | ||||||
| 14 | he owned and operated Moore and Wittenborn's Thriftway grocery | ||||||
| 15 | store in Chester, first with his father and then on his own; he | ||||||
| 16 | sold the business in 2003; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 17 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
| 18 | NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 19 | we congratulate Terry Moore on his retirement from the Randolph | ||||||
| 20 | County Board of Commissioners, and wish him the best in all his | ||||||
| 21 | future endeavors; and be it further
| ||||||
| 22 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
