HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Terrence 
4Patrick "Terry" Allen who passed away on November 11, 2014; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Terry Allen was born in Chicago on April 14, 1960 
6to Thomas and Irene Allen; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, Terry Allen grew up on the North Side of Chicago 
8with his 5
brothers and 2 sisters; he attended St. Patrick High 
9School; his father was active with labor and
politics while 
10serving as an Apprentice Coordinator for the
International 
11Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers (IUBAC) Local 21; 
12his
brother, Jim Allen, currently serves as the Business 
13Manager of IUBAC Local 21, and his
brother, Tom Allen, serves 
14as a judge on the Circuit Court of Cook County; additionally, 
15his brother-in-law, Tim Cullerton currently presides as 
16Chicago's 38th Ward Alderman; and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, Terry Allen became a member of the International 
18Brotherhood of Electrical
Workers (IBEW) Local 134 in 1981; he 
19worked with Newgard Electric, Commercial Light Electric, and

20Elite Electric before becoming an Electrical Inspector for Cook 
21County; following his service
with Cook County, he began 
22working directly for IBEW Local 134, first as a Business Agent,

1then as Vice-President, and finally as Business Manager since 
2October of 2011; and
  
 
  
3    WHEREAS, Terry Allen was the beloved husband of Jean (nee 
4Conrick); the proud father of Billy,
Amanda, and Michael Allen; 
5the loving brother of Barbara (John) Wiemhoff, Nancy (Tim)

6Cullerton, Tom (Jan) Allen, Jim (Lin) Allen, Tim (Mary) Allen, 
7Dan (Sue) Allen, and Pat (Laura)
Allen; the brother-in-law of 
8Mary Ann (Dan) Jordan, Bill Conrick, Joanne (Dan) Lynch, Tom

9Conrick, and Cathy (Jay) Ek; and the son-in-law of Bill and 
10Camille Conrick; therefore, be it
  
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
12NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
13we mourn the passing of Terrence Patrick "Terry" Allen, and 
14extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all 
15who knew and loved him; and be it further
  
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
17presented to  the family of  Terry Allen as an expression of our 
18deepest sympathy.
