HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of  Rebecca 
4Jane "Becky" Malkovich, who passed away on September 22, 2014; 
5and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Rebecca Malkovich was born on April 25, 1961 in 
7Benton; her parents were Daniel Leon Malkovich and Joe Anne 
8(nee Choisser) Malkovich; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Rebecca Malkovich graduated from Benton 
10Consolidated High School in 1979; she later earned her 
11bachelor's degree in journalism from Southern Illinois 
12University in Carbondale; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Rebecca Malkovich worked for the Benton Evening 
14News for 9 years, which her family owned until 1986; she later 
15joined the staff of The Southern Illinoisan in late 2003, 
16working as a reporter on many diverse topics; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Rebecca Malkovich enjoyed spending time with her 
18family and friends, music, good writing, coffee, and her pets, 
19Captain and Kitty; and
  
 
20    WHEREAS, Rebecca Malkovich was preceded in death by her

1parents; a sister, Amanda Malkovich; and a brother, Daniel 
2Malkovich; and
  
 
3    WHEREAS, Rebecca Malkovich is survived by 2 sons, Jake 
4Ivanovich and Eli Ivanovich; a brother, John (Nicole Peyran) 
5Malkovich; a sister, Melissa Malkovich; a sister-in-law, 
6Debbie Malkovich; 5 nieces and nephews, Matthew (Brandi) 
7Malkovich, Loewy and Amandine Malkovich, Jesse (Anh Dao Pham) 
8Starita, and Tim (Kim) Eubanks; a grandnephew, T.J. Eubanks; 
9and 2 grandnieces, Bayley Eubanks and Mila Joe Malkovich; 
10therefore, be it
  
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
12NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
13we, along with her family and friends, mourn the passing of 
14Rebecca Jane "Becky" Malkovich; and be it further
  
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
16presented to the family of Rebecca Malkovich as an expression 
17of our sympathy.
