| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 | | Representatives wish to congratulate Carol Johnson on |
| 4 | | receiving the "2014 Best School Blood Drive Coordinator Award" |
| 5 | | from the Illinois Coalition of Community Blood Centers; and
|
| 6 | | WHEREAS, In 1997, Carol Johnson began overseeing the |
| 7 | | organization of annual blood drives at Harlem High School in |
| 8 | | Machesney Park; and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Because of Carol Johnson's success, the school |
| 10 | | began to hold semi-annual blood drives, with some of the drives |
| 11 | | being 2 days long; and |
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Carol Johnson has been an advocate for "Be the |
| 13 | | Match", the world's largest bone marrow registry, which links |
| 14 | | patients to compatible donors, and encourages her students to |
| 15 | | participate in the registry; and |
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Carol Johnson has embraced new technological |
| 17 | | advancements that make it possible for double red cells to be |
| 18 | | collected at mobile drives; because of her, many students have |
| 19 | | been double red cell donors; and
|
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Carol Johnson works to ensure each individual |
